VIDEO CONFERENCIA

Nuestros alumnos de grado 5 Zebras, tuvieron la oportunidad de intercambiar diversas opiniones sobre sus países y los colegios en donde estudian. La actividad realizada fue con alumnos de Pleasantdale de New Jersey (Estados Unidos). A continuación encontrarán un link para poder visualizar el desempeño de los alumnos de ambos colegios.

Video Conference

On Thursday 27th we received the letters from the students from Pleasantdale School. The students were really excited and couldn´t wait to receive the letters. As soon as we received them, zebras and giraffes started writing a letter to each of the students that had written to them. On Friday 28th was the big day were the student were going to talk to each other . Pleasandale school started by singing a song to us in Spanish, then several students talked about themselves. It was our turn, Andrea Ballena and Stephanie Ochoa had prepared a poster to talk about our School, then Alejandro told them a little about our Houses. After came the turn of Lucia, Ayumi and Rodrigo, they talked a little about Lima, places to visit, typical dishes and what kinds of products we produce. We talked in English, while Pleasandale students talked in Spanish. Then they started to ask questions about themselves. They really got exited when they started to aks who was who, so that they could see who they were writing to. As well as when they asked their questions and could see that even though they were from another country, they had the same interests. We had a great time learning from each other. It was a wonderful experience that we hope will repeat again.


Scientists at Work

Hands on learning. Students had a lot of fun learning about the parts of the Heart. First of all they found the parts of the heart that they had learnt in class. Then they disected the heart until they reached the ventricles. Zebras and Giraffes worked well. Disecting the heart helped them to see how the circulatory system works.

LA ELECCIÓN DEL REY DE LOS PÁJAROS

Nuestros alumnos iniciaron el segundo bimestre, con un nuevo texto narrativo: la leyenda. Escuchamos la leyenda, lo que nos motivó a investigar sobre el cóndor.Ave grandiosa que vive en nuestros andes y es la admiración de los turistas que acuden a nuestro país, especialmente para verlo sobrevolar por nuestra serranía.

TRABAJANDO PARA MAMÁ

Durante una semana estuvimos realizando con mucho esfuerzo y dedicación una tarjeta a mamá y un portapapel toalla para la cocina. El resultado final fue espectacular ya desplegamos nuestra creatividad en la decoración. Nuestras Misses se sintieron muy felices con nuestros logros artísticos.

DÍA DE LA MADRE

El día de hoy 7 de mayo, celebramos el día de la madre en nuestro colegio. Nuestra madre es aquella persona que vela nuestro sueño, nos acompaña en nuestras alegrías y tristezas y siempre está presente en cada una de nuestras actividades; es por ello que quisimos demostrarle todo nuestro cariño a través de una canción:"You got it"
También tuvimos la alegría de que dos de nuestros compañeros sean los maestros de ceremonia en nuestra actuación Nicole Yauri y Rodrigo Carcausto.

Islands

This term our theme has been about islands. The students have really enjoyed investigating the different islands around the world. First the students formed groups. Each group investigated a different island. Each group decided with the help of the teacher the important points that should be investigated, then each student decided what piece of information they would bring. Once they had this information they did their posters and presented to the class what they had investigated. The students felt proud of their poster. This experience helped us learn from each other. We didn´t learn about one island but 10. It was a very fullfilling experience for both teacher and student. After this each student did their own travel brochure to attract tourist to their island that they had investigated. Each student with their own style did their brochure. To finish off, using their imagination and having some information what an island should have, each student invented their own island. Students were able to express themselves through their imagination through their creation of their islands.
